Full-Time Position Summary Guardian Event Security is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee the human resources functions supporting our corporate team and event security workforce. This position plays a critical role in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, workforce readiness, and personnel administration for a fast-paced event security organization. The Human Resources Manager must be capable of supporting high-volume recruiting and onboarding while maintaining accurate personnel records and ensuring Guardian's employment practices comply with applicable federal, Florida, and local employment requirements. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for administering Human Resources policies and procedures and supporting management in their implementation. Company operational, financial, security, client-service, and other business policies remain under the authority of the appropriate company leadership or functional department. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Administer Guardian Event Security's Human Resources policies, procedures, and employment practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Maintain awareness of Florida employment requirements and advise management regarding HR-related compliance matters. Support a workforce consisting of full-time employees, part-time employees, event personnel, supervisors, and managers. Manage high-volume recruiting for event security officers, guest services personnel, supervisors, managers, and other event-related positions. Develop job postings, coordinate recruiting campaigns, screen candidates, schedule and conduct interviews, and support hiring decisions. Coordinate background screening, employment eligibility documentation, offer letters, onboarding documentation, and other pre-employment requirements. Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation to ensure personnel understand company expectations, policies, reporting requirements, scheduling procedures, standards of conduct, and applicable client requirements. Maintain accurate personnel records relating to hiring, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, performance management, training, and separation from employment. Work with Operations to maintain workforce readiness for upcoming events and identify recruiting or staffing shortages. Coordinate required employee training and maintain applicable training and certification records. Train and advise managers and supervisors regarding employee documentation, performance management, disciplinary procedures, and appropriate workplace conduct. Provide HR guidance to management concerning employee relations matters, including attendance, conduct, performance, workplace complaints, disciplinary action, and termination. Receive and appropriately investigate employee complaints involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace conduct, or other HR-related concerns. Respond to employee inquiries regarding Human Resources policies, benefits, employment documentation, payroll-related personnel information, and company procedures. Coordinate applicable employee benefit programs and assist employees with benefit-related questions and enrollment. Maintain confidentiality of employee records, investigations, compensation information, medical information, and other protected or sensitive personnel information. Assist management with workers' compensation reporting and documentation following workplace injuries or incidents. Coordinate employee separation documentation, final personnel records, and exit interviews when appropriate. Assist with unemployment claims, employment verification requests, and other employment-related administrative matters. Monitor HR processes and recommend improvements that increase recruiting efficiency, employee retention, compliance, and workforce readiness. Perform other HR-related responsibilities assigned by executive management. Event Security Workforce Responsibilities Because Guardian operates within the special-event industry, the Human Resources Manager must understand that staffing requirements can change rapidly based on event schedules, attendance, client requirements, weather, cancellations, and other operational considerations. The position will work closely with Guardian's Operations team to support: Large-scale event recruiting and hiring campaigns. Rapid onboarding of event personnel. Employee availability and workforce readiness. Seasonal and fluctuating staffing requirements. Event-specific training and credential requirements. Personnel documentation required by clients or venues. Staffing shortages and recruitment projections. Post-event personnel and performance issues. Employee attendance and reliability trends. Supervisory Responsibilities The Human Resources Manager may supervise HR personnel, recruiters, administrative staff, or other employees who may be assigned to the Human Resources function. Supervisory responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, coaching employees, documenting performance concerns, addressing complaints, and recommending corrective action consistent with Guardian policies and applicable law. The Human Resources Manager also provides guidance to company supervisors and managers regarding appropriate HR practices. Operational managers remain responsible for managing the performance and conduct of employees assigned to their departments. Qualifications Successful candidates should demonstrate sound professional judgment, discretion, organization, and the ability to operate effectively within a high-volume event staffing environment. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience preferred. Experience supporting hourly, part-time, seasonal, hospitality, security, venue, or event workforces strongly preferred. Experience with high-volume recruiting and onboarding. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience may be considered. Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, scheduling, payroll, or workforce-management systems preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or comparable HR certification preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong working knowledge of Human Resources administration and employment practices. Working knowledge of applicable federal and Florida employment requirements. Understanding of employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, disciplinary documentation, and employee separation practices. Ability to manage sensitive employee matters professionally and confidentially. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage high volumes of applicants and employees simultaneously. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with other departments as necessary. Ability to distinguish between HR policy administration and operational/business management authority. Ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment where staffing requirements may change rapidly. Professional demeanor and sound judgment when dealing with employees, clients, supervisors, and executive leadership.
Working Conditions Primary Location:
Fort Lauderdale, Florida This position primarily operates from Guardian Event Security's office between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. This position my occasionally require attendance at event sites, recruiting events, employee orientations, training sessions, or other company activities outside of standard business hours. Because Guardian operates in the event industry, occasional evening, weekend, or holiday availability may be required when significant HR or staffing matters arise in connection with major events. Management Authority & Policy Responsibility The Human Resources Manager serves as the company's subject-matter resource for Human Resources matters and is responsible for administering approved HR policies and advising management regarding employment-related practices. The position does not independently establish company-wide operational or business policy unless specifically authorized by executive management. Policies relating to event operations, security procedures, client service, financial controls, purchasing, technology, scheduling methodology, deployment standards, and other business functions are established by the appropriate company leadership. HR may review or advise on these policies when they affect employees or create employment-law considerations. Final authority for company policy, organizational structure, and management decisions remains with Guardian Event Security's executive leadership.
