Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Gainesville, FL, supporting an aerospace and defense environment. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee HR practices related to ITAR, EAR, onboarding, U.S. Person verification, secure employee records, and audit-ready documentation.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for engineering, technical, operational, and specialized roles within a regulated aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environment.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, workplace culture, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and applicable government reporting requirements.
- Manage performance evaluation processes, succession planning, employee development programs, and workforce capability initiatives.
- Administer compensation, benefits, HRIS records, workforce metrics, and HR operations to support data-driven leadership decisions. Compensation and Benefits

- Manage specialized recruiting and onboarding processes for engineering, technical, and operational talent.
- Oversee ITAR, EAR, employment law compliance, HRIS records, compensation administration, and audit preparedness.
- Partner with leadership to support performance management, succession planning, culture, and employee development.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations due to access to export-controlled technical data.
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, advanced manufacturing, engineering, or another regulated environment.
- Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, citizenship verification, background screening, and secure workforce recordkeeping requirements.
- Strong understanding of employment regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related HR compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with HRIS systems, employee records management, compensation benchmarking, benefits administration, and HR reporting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, employee relations, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High level of discretion, emotional intelligence, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Prior HR leadership experience supporting defense contractors, aerospace manufacturers, engineering teams, or technical operations.
- Experience preparing for compliance audits or supporting government-regulated workforce documentation.
- Demonstrated success building scalable HR programs in a growing or evolving organization.
