We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and people-focused Human Resources Director to lead all aspects of Human Resources for our skilled nursing and long-term care facility. The HR Director serves as a strategic partner to facility leadership by fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting employee engagement, and driving recruitment and retention initiatives. Position Summary The Human Resources Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Human Resources department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, workers' compensation, leave management, payroll support, compliance, performance management, and employee engagement. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and healthcare-specific employment regulations while supporting organizational goals. Essential Responsibilities Lead and manage all Human Resources functions for the facility. Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard qualified employees for clinical and non-clinical positions. Develop and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies. Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding programs. Maintain personnel files and HR records in accordance with federal and Florida regulations. Ensure compliance with AHCA, CMS, OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, E-Verify, and all applicable employment laws. Oversee Level 2 Background Screening and Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse requirements. Coordinate employee health requirements including physicals, drug screens, TB testing, and required immunization documentation. Administer employee benefits and assist staff with benefit enrollment and questions. Manage workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and leave administration. Investigate employee concerns and workplace issues while promoting fair and consistent resolution. Coach department managers on employee performance, disciplinary actions, and corrective action processes. Monitor attendance, turnover, vacancies, and staffing trends. Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping accuracy. Coordinate employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives. Maintain HR metrics and prepare reports for facility leadership and corporate partners. Support facility surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections. Ensure all required employee education, licensure, certifications, and mandatory training remain current. Promote a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional resident care. Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of Human Resources management experience. Healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, or hospital HR experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Florida employment laws and healthcare regulations. Experience with employee relations, recruitment, benefits, leave administration, and workers' compensation. Knowledge of Florida AHCA background screening requirements and the Clearinghouse preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems. Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Certifications SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred but not required.
