The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with a strong background in unionized manufacturing environments, employee and leadership development, talent management, employee relations, and workforce planning. This role serves as a strategic business partner to plant leadership while maintaining a visible presence on the production floor. The HR Manager will champion employee engagement, foster positive labor relations, develop frontline leaders, and drive programs that enhance organizational performance and employee growth. Responsibilities Leadership & People Development Design and implement leadership development programs for supervisors, team leads, and emerging leaders. Coach managers on employee relations, performance management, accountability, and effective leadership practices. Develop succession planning and talent review processes. Lead training initiatives focused on leadership skills, communication, engagement, and workforce development. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. T alent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Partner with operational leaders to forecast workforce needs. Lead recruiting efforts for hourly, technical, and salaried positions. Develop onboarding programs that accelerate employee success and retention. Support workforce diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives. HR Operations Manage employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution. Oversee performance management processes and annual talent reviews. Monitor key HR metrics including turnover, retention, absenteeism, and employee engagement. Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with OSHA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other employment regulations. Culture & Employee Engagement Develop programs that recognize employee contributions and strengthen workplace culture. Foster an environment where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed. Partner with leadership teams to improve communication and engagement across all shifts. Support community involvement and employee-focused initiatives. Labor & Employee Relations Serve as the primary HR partner for union and non-union employees. Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements. Partner with union representatives to resolve workplace issues and maintain productive labor-management relationships. Lead grievance investigations, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution efforts. Support contract negotiations and labor strategy initiatives. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and labor laws. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field. 7+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years supporting a unionized workforce. Strong knowledge of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and grievance administration. Experience leading employee relations investigations and conflict resolution. Demonstrated success developing frontline leaders and supervisory talent. Knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices. Preferred PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or
SHRM-SCP
certification. Experience supporting multi-shift manufacturing operations. Background in workforce development, apprenticeship programs, or skills-based training.
