The Role:
OWL Services is seeking a Human Resources Manager (HR Business Partner) to support leaders and employees across a designated region. This role serves as a trusted advisor to management and employees, partnering with business leaders to align people strategies with organizational goals while ensuring a positive and productive employee experience. The HR Manager will be responsible for a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, talent management, performance management, onboarding, employee engagement, policy administration, training and development, and workforce planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic partnership with day-to-day HR operations in a growing and dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational and operational goals. Lead the onboarding process for new employees within the assigned region, ensuring a positive and effective onboarding experience. Support and co-manage the quarterly field technician scorecard and incentive compensation programs. Interpret, communicate, and administer company policies, procedures, and employment practices. Partner with leaders to drive performance management initiatives, including performance reviews, coaching, and employee development. Support and co-manage the annual merit increase process. Serve as the primary HR resource for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and recommending appropriate resolutions. Identify training and development needs and collaborate with leadership to implement effective learning programs. Maintain and optimize HR systems, processes, and data integrity. Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement, retention, and organizational success. Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee performance, conflict resolution, and workforce management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a multi-site or field-based environment. Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations. Ability to work on-site, in the city of Des Moines. Experience supporting performance management, compensation programs, talent development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); ADP Workforce Now experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence leaders at all levels of the organization. Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive matters.
