Job Description

Human Resource Manager Safety Storage, Inc. of Charleston, Illinois has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resource Manager. Safety Storage is the premier manufacturer of hazardous material storage containment buildings and systems. Reporting to the Controller in this key role the HR Manager is responsible for all functions within the Human Resources department including onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, HR administration, employee relations, and related HR accounting entries. The role will also assist with various accounting and finance functions as assigned. Human Resource Manager -
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for new hire onboarding including i9 verification, background check completion, and onboarding in HR System Facilitate orientation for all new hires both in-person and virtual Process weekly payroll for the organization Maintain HR Systems and personnel files Respond to general inquiries on HR policy and procedures from management and team members Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies Assist with resolving employee relations issues/concerns including full investigations if needed Administer and represent SSI in unemployment claims and hearings within the state Conduct employee exit interviews and report findings to leadership Gather and analyze data and report on HR metrics such as overtime trends, payroll, and time to onboard Inclusive of all HR administrative tasks Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee information, payroll, and other sensitive matters Maintain all monthly accounting requirements for HR processes. Assist the accounting department with other duties as requested Performs all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Prefer associate degree in human resources or accounting, or higher Minimum of 4 years Human Resources experience with an emphasis on payroll and HR benefits administration Knowledge of employment/labor laws

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the workplace Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts Must interact well with others Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining efficiency and meeting deadlines Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
