HR SUPERVISOR - CHICAGO, IL
$45,000 - $50,000 On site in Chicago Bilingual Spanish is a big plus A well-established and mission-driven organization in the Chicago area is seeking an experienced HR Supervisor to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, having meaningful responsibility, and making a visible impact across the employee lifecycle. The HR Supervisor will play a key role in supporting employees and leadership while overseeing a broad range of HR functions. This is not a narrow, transactional HR position—you will have the opportunity to influence employee relations, benefits, compliance, payroll, HRIS, performance management, and policy development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead employee relations investigations and support progressive discipline and corrective action processes.
  • Administer benefits, open enrollment, leave programs, accommodations, FMLA, workers' compensation, and return-to-work processes.
  • Oversee HRIS data accuracy, personnel records, payroll support, and employment changes.
  • Manage performance evaluation processes and assist with employee development and training.
  • Monitor federal, state, and local employment regulations and ensure HR policies remain compliant.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies, I-9 documentation, and required labor law postings.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, onboarding, orientation, offboarding, and employment verification.
  • Prepare HR metrics, reporting, audits, and compliance documentation for leadership.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to HR staff while collaborating with benefits, payroll, HRIS, and other vendors.
  • Travel among Chicagoland locations as needed while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
The HR Supervisor will be an important member of the HR team and an ideal fit for someone who combines strong employee-relations judgment with excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail. Bachelor's degree preferred, along with supervisory experience. SHRM-CP or PHR is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
