COMPANY OVERVIEW MSI
Security provides manned security services throughout Indiana, including armed and unarmed officers, mobile patrol, traffic control, and firewatch. Led by former military and law enforcement leadership, we are committed to delivering reliable service through our core values of communication, commitment, and vigilance.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time, on-site Human Resources Manager role based in Bloomington, IN. This position serves as the senior HR leader for the organization, responsible for the day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced, field-based environment. Lead and oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and training Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support company growth and operational needs Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, OSHA standards, and industry-specific requirements Partner with operations leadership to support workforce and succession planning, and lead retention initiatives Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and performance management; lead internal investigations and ensure proper documentation Oversee benefits administration, workers' compensation and unemployment claims, and payroll coordination Own internal HR communications, including company-wide messaging and HR Help Desk operations Analyze HR metrics and trends to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a service-based or high-volume workforce environment Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus Strong working knowledge of federal and Indiana labor laws, including wage and hour compliance Proven experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations Experience supporting a distributed or multi-site workforce strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data management, and reporting Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Experience in security, law enforcement, or similar industries is a plus
