GENERAL SUMMARY
The HR Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring smooth execution of core HR functions while supporting the HR Manager in driving process improvements. This role serves as a bridge between HR leadership and staff, providing hands-on supervision, training, and task delegation to maintain an efficient, compliant, and employee-focused HR function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Supervises daily HR operations, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. 2. Train and onboard new hires within the HR department, ensuring they understand policies, systems, and procedures. 3. Partners with the HR Manager to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to day-to-day HR processes. 4. Delegates tasks and responsibilities among HR staff based on workload, priorities, and individual strengths. 5. Serves as a point of escalation for HR staff questions or issues before involving the HR Manager. 6. Monitors team performance and provides coaching or feedback as needed. 7. Ensures HR operations comply with company policy and applicable labor laws and regulations. 8. Assists with employee relations matters, escalating complex issues to the HR Manager as needed. 9. Supports benefits administration, leave management, and recordkeeping in partnership with HR staff. 10. Prepares HR-related reports and summaries to support departmental decision-making. 11. Helps maintain accurate HR documentation, personnel files, and compliance records. 12. Assists with the preparation of required regulatory filings and audits. 13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC regulations. HR practices, employee relations, and departmental workflows. HRIS and standard office software systems.
Skill in:
Training, coaching, and mentoring team members. Managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing tasks simultaneously. Delegating tasks effectively based on workload and staff strengths.
Ability to:
Interpret and apply HR policies and labor law requirements. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information. Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with employees and leadership.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of professional experience in Human Resources required. Prior experience in a lead or supervisory capacity within an HR department required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems required.
