Position is based at the South Portland office We are seeking an experienced and organized HR Supervisor to join our team in South Portland. The HR Supervisor will oversee daily HR operations and provide support to employees, supervisors, and leadership. Responsibilities- Oversee daily HR operations and supervise HR staff as assigned.
- Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, background checks, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Assist with employee relations, investigations, performance concerns, and corrective action.
- Provide guidance to employees and supervisors regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate employee orientation, required training, licenses, and certifications.
- Assist with benefits, leave, payroll-related HR matters, and employee questions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable employment requirements.
- Assist with performance evaluations and employee development.
- Support leadership with HR policies, procedures, and organizational initiatives.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information. Qualifications
- Previous Human Resources experience.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Ability to supervise, train, and support employees.
- Knowledge of HR practices and employment requirements.
- Proficiency with computers and HR systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field; HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR; and previous HR supervisory experience.
