Human Resources Director

Job Description

Career Management Associates is partnering with D & G Machine Products, Inc. in the search for an experienced Human Resources Director to join its leadership team. This is an opportunity for an accomplished HR leader who enjoys both setting strategy and staying connected to the day-to-day work of HR. The HR Director will provide leadership across the full employee lifecycle while partnering closely with executive leadership to ensure the organization's people practices support its long-term business goals. Based primarily at D & G's Main Plant in Westbrook, Maine, with approximately 10-20% of time spent at its Fabrication Plant in Gorham, this role will lead the Human Resources function and serve as a trusted resource to leaders and employees throughout the organization. What You'll Do The HR Director will provide leadership and oversight across all areas of Human Resources, including: Partnering with executive leadership on organizational strategy, workforce planning, and long-term talent needs. Leading, developing, and supporting the Human Resources team. Overseeing employee relations, performance management, coaching, discipline, and other workplace matters. Developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Leading recruitment and retention efforts, including developing strategies to attract and retain a strong and diverse workforce. Overseeing compensation, benefits, employee incentive programs, and annual benefit enrollment. Providing oversight of weekly payroll administration and related reporting and compliance requirements. Administering and overseeing the organization's 401(k) plan and associated compliance responsibilities. Serving as the organization's Affirmative Action Officer. Developing HR metrics and using data to evaluate organizational effectiveness and workforce needs. Creating and implementing programs that support company and departmental goals. Partnering with managers and supervisors to strengthen leadership practices and address workforce challenges. Supporting HR and staffing budget development and management. Staying current on employment law, HR practices, and emerging workforce trends. What We're Looking For The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader who can operate comfortably at both the strategic and operational levels. This individual should be approachable, pragmatic, highly organized, and capable of navigating complex employee and business matters with sound judgment and discretion.
Qualified candidates will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of human resources management experience, including at least five years in a management role. Broad HR generalist expertise, including employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, recruiting, coaching, and talent management. Demonstrated success developing and implementing recruitment and retention strategies. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively partner with executives, managers, supervisors, and employees at all levels of an organization. Experience leading organizational change and implementing new HR programs and initiatives. SHRM-CP/PHR or
SHRM-SCP/SPHR
certification strongly preferred. Experience working within a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
