Job Summary/Objective:
The Director of Human Resources is a leadership position reporting directly to the Chief People Officer and provides operational leadership and oversight of Human Resources functions and services. The Director partners with organizational leaders and employees to support employee relations, performance management, investigations, employee engagement, retention, policy administration, workforce needs, and continuous improvement. The Director provides day-to-day operational oversight of the Human Resources team, establishes priorities and workflows, promotes consistent application of HR practices, and ensures responsive and effective HR services across the organization. The position also supports HRIS optimization, workforce data, process improvement, and the development of efficient, employee-centered HR practices.Essential Duties and Functions:
Provide operational leadership and oversight of Human Resources functions, services, priorities, and workflows in partnership with the Chief People Officer. Provide oversight, direction, and support to the Human Resources team, including workload management, accountability, development, and performance. Advise leaders and employees regarding employee relations, workplace concerns, conflict resolution, corrective action, performance management, and HR policies. Coach and support managers in effective performance management, employee development, documentation, and addressing workplace concerns. Oversee the organization's performance review process and support performance improvement plans. Lead and oversee timely, thorough, objective, and confidential workplace investigations. Ensure appropriate documentation, recordkeeping, and retention of employee relations and investigation records. Prepare or review investigation findings, recommendations, and appropriate follow-up actions. Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and employee survey initiatives. Conduct and oversee exit interviews and analyze trends to identify opportunities to improve employee engagement and retention. Administer and support the development, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies and the employee handbook. Monitor compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies and recommend appropriate action when needed. Partner with organizational leaders on workforce needs, staffing concerns, organizational changes, and HR-related initiatives. Optimize HRIS functionality, workflows, reporting, data accuracy, automation, and system utilization. Support HRIS enhancements, implementation, training, and adoption and partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve system issues. Utilize HR data and trends to identify opportunities, inform decisions, and recommend improvements to HR practices and services. Identify opportunities to standardize HR processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen the employee experience through continuous improvement. Maintain appropriate confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive employee and organizational matters. Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives aligned with organizational priorities and Summit Pointe values.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Masters preferred. Five or more years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and performance management required. Experience conducting workplace investigations required. Experience coaching managers and providing guidance on corrective action and workplace issues required. Experience providing leadership, direction, or oversight of HR staff or HR operations required. Experience with HRIS systems, HR data, reporting, and process improvement required. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and HR best practices required. Strong communication, judgment, problem-solving, and confidentiality skills required Strong communication, leadership, judgment, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills required Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred. Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization is preferred. Experience with HR analytics, automation, or continuous improvement preferred. Lean or Six Sigma experience or certification preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, computer, analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-directed and resourceful.Benefits:
