Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead people operations and strengthen the employee experience in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This role will shape HR programs, provide guidance to employees and leaders, and help ensure workplace practices remain compliant, consistent, and supportive of organizational goals. The position also plays a key role in hiring, onboarding, performance support, compensation administration, and day-to-day employee relations.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and workplace guidelines that support employees and align with legal and organizational standards.
  • Advise leadership, staff, contractors, and volunteers on human resources matters, including employee relations, performance concerns, staffing questions, and workplace practices.
  • Manage recruitment efforts from position planning through candidate selection, and oversee onboarding activities that help new hires transition successfully into the organization.
  • Create, update, and maintain HR-related materials such as job descriptions, training resources, performance evaluation tools, improvement plans, and benefits documentation.
  • Partner with leadership and legal counsel to help maintain compliance with employment laws and to promote fair, consistent, and equitable people practices.
  • Support compensation and benefits administration by providing guidance on pay practices, benefits information, and related employee questions.
  • Oversee HR communication across multiple platforms, including internal documents, the organization's website, payroll resources, absence management tools, and training systems.
  • Supervise the Payroll and Benefits Associate while coordinating work involving substitute placement support and business office assistance.
  • Assist managers with coaching, performance management, absence tracking, and other workforce planning needs to support operational effectiveness.
