We are seeking an experienced, organized, and people focused Human Resources Manager to lead and support our Human Resources functions. Position Summary The Human Resources Manager will oversee and manage the day to day operations of the Human Resources department. This individual will serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership while ensuring that AWBS maintains effective HR practices, policies, and procedures. The HR Manager will be responsible for employee relations, recruitment and retention, onboarding, performance management, policy development, compliance, staff development, and other HR initiatives that support the organization's strategic goals and workplace culture. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, effective problem solver, and collaborative leader who is passionate about supporting employees while balancing the needs of the organization.Essential Responsibilities:
Human Resources Leadership- Provide leadership and oversight for the day to day operations of the Human Resources department.
- Serve as a resource and advisor to leadership, supervisors, and employees regarding HR related matters.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support AWBS's mission, goals, and organizational growth.
- Promote a positive, professional, inclusive, and employee centered workplace culture.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experiences. Employee Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations concerns.
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and employees regarding workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and professional conduct.
- Support the resolution of employee concerns in a fair, timely, and professional manner.
- Conduct or assist with workplace investigations as needed.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and documentation related to employee matters. Recruitment & Retention
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring process for open positions.
- Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
- Support the development and maintenance of job descriptions.
- Coordinate interview and selection processes.
- Develop strategies to improve employee recruitment, engagement, retention, and succession planning.
- Support internal employee movement, promotions, transfers, and career development opportunities. Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Oversee and enhance the employee onboarding process.
- Ensure new employees receive the information, resources, and support needed for a successful transition into AWBS.
- Partner with department leaders to support employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives.
- Develop and support employee recognition and retention initiatives. Performance Management
- Support supervisors and leadership with employee performance evaluations and performance improvement processes.
- Ensure performance evaluations are completed consistently and in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance regarding employee coaching, corrective action, and performance concerns.
- Assist in developing processes that support employee growth and professional development. Policies & Compliance
- Develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Support organizational compliance with employment related requirements.
- Stay informed of changes in employment laws and HR best practices. Training & Professional Development
- Identify organizational and employee training needs.
- Partner with leadership to develop and coordinate staff training and professional development opportunities.
- Support supervisors in developing effective leadership and employee management skills.
- Assist with the development of employee career pathways and internal advancement opportunities. Organizational Support
- Partner with organizational leadership to support strategic planning and workforce development.
- Monitor workforce trends and identify opportunities to strengthen staffing and organizational capacity.
- Support initiatives related to employee engagement, retention, workplace culture, and organizational development.
- Prepare HR reports and provide recommendations to leadership as needed. Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience with employee relations and HR operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR policies, employment practices, and applicable employment laws.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and policy development.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and leadership at all levels of the organization. Preferred
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience working in a healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or human services organization.
- Experience supporting organizational growth, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives. Key Competencies The successful candidate will demonstrate:
