Human Resources Manager Job Summary:
Human Resources Manager for a facility located in Southeast Michigan. This role is responsible for supporting business priorities across a 150+ employee operation. The Human Resources Manager will oversee and coordinate core HR functions including recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. This role is an ideal fit for a highly analytical person and involves compliance, auditing, and reporting, as well as working closely with the finance team. This position partners closely with site leadership to provide a broad range of HR support, helping to achieve business objectives while offering guidance to leadership and employees on workplace matters.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead and manage recruitment activities including posting roles, sourcing candidates, screening, and preparing hiring documentation Oversee administration of HR programs including training and development, compensation, benefits, performance management, and recognition initiatives Partner with site leadership on all employee-related matters and recommend improvements to processes and programs Actively support the development and execution of HR strategy, identifying opportunities to improve workforce effectiveness and business results Build strong working relationships across all levels to promote a culture of trust, accountability, and engagement Serve as a coach and advisor to leaders, providing guidance on employee relations and organizational matters Address and resolve complex and sensitive HR issues in collaboration with management Ensure consistent execution of staffing processes and effective onboarding programs across the organization Evaluate organizational effectiveness, including role clarity, structure, and cost efficiency, and recommend improvements Analyze HR data and provide reports and KPIs to support decision-making Support talent and organizational development efforts, including workforce planning and pipeline development Maintain and update HR policies and programs; ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws (including FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, wage and hour regulations, etc.) Assist with compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitive offerings Oversee payroll processes and HR systems to ensure accurate processing of hires, terminations, and employee changes Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
PHR certification preferred Strong experience in recruiting, benefits administration, payroll oversight, 401(k) reconciliation, and leave programs (FMLA) 5+ years of HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively Experience working in global or culturally diverse organizations is a plus Practical, solutions-oriented approach with a can-do mindset Strong communication and interpersonal skills Team-oriented with leadership and mentoring capabilities, including handling performance management and terminations Occasional travel may be required, including international travel Strong analytical skills are needed to perform this role. This position involves compliance, auditing, and reporting.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Human Resources or related field Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., ADP) preferred 4+ years of Human Resources experience required Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
