Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Guide managers and employees on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and employee relations matters to support a positive and compliant work environment.
- Administer day-to-day human resources operations, including employee records, HR documentation, and coordination of standard HR processes.
- Manage benefits-related activities such as employee enrollment support, questions on available programs, and issue resolution with providers or internal stakeholders.
- Lead onboarding activities for new hires by coordinating required documentation, orientation steps, and a smooth transition into the organization.
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and hiring process support.
- Maintain and update HRIS records to help ensure data accuracy, reporting reliability, and efficient personnel administration.
- Partner with leadership on labor relations topics, helping address contract-related questions, workplace issues, and appropriate follow-up actions.
- Support compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and public-sector HR practices through consistent administration and documentation. Requirements
- Experience serving in an HR Manager or similar human resources leadership capacity.
- Strong background in employee relations, including handling sensitive workplace matters with sound judgment and discretion.
- Working knowledge of HR administration processes, benefits support, and employee lifecycle activities.
- Experience using HRIS platforms to maintain records, track personnel data, and support reporting needs.
- Demonstrated success with onboarding and full-cycle recruiting in a structured organizational environment.
- Familiarity with labor relations principles and the ability to support employee and management discussions effectively.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a local government or similarly regulated environment is preferred.
