We are looking for a motivated and experienced HR Manager to join our team and support employees and leaders across our distribution, manufacturing, & office operations. As HR Manager at GP, you will perform day-to-day HR operations and serve as a trusted partner to leaders and managers across the company. You will be responsible for driving & managing recruitment, onboarding & offboarding, safety training program, performance reviews, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations & engagement, and HR policy and compliance. Responsibilities Manages the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, recruitment, resume screening, interviewing, candidate communication, and hiring of qualified job applicants for all positions, both salaried and hourly. Collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings, develop effective recruitment strategies, and provide hiring recommendations. Coordinate new employee onboarding, orientation, & training. Ensure onboarding activities foster a positive and successful new hire experience, getting new employees productive promptly and happy they came. Also manages offboarding of employees. Payroll administration / processing - work with managers to track time & attendance, manage wage changes, and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Manage benefits and compensation, including annual benefit enrollment, employee education, plan evaluation, broker relationships, market benchmarking, salary structures, internal equity, and compensation reviews. Maintain & create HR policies and the employee handbook. Keep them clear, current, and consistent with federal, state, and local employment law. Follow HR best practices & ensure employee compliance with company policies. Manage employee relations, provide thoughtful and consistent guidance on performance concerns, address employee / workplace issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions. Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding workplace questions and concerns. Promote employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and culture-building initiatives. Coordinate internal communications and employee events that foster a positive workplace experience. Support internal and external audits, employee-related reporting requirements, & recordkeeping processes including personnel files and PTO tracking.
Experience / Qualifications
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience across a broad range of human resources responsibilities, including leading an HR function. Strong working knowledge of HR operations, employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, HR systems, and employment compliance. Experience providing HR business partnership in manufacturing, distribution, and office-based environments. Lead projects and manage multiple priorities & deadlines while maintaining flexibility, responsiveness, and a positive approach. Experience advising and coaching managers and leaders through complex employee and organizational situations. Working knowledge of federal and Minnesota employment law, or the discipline and willingness to learn it fast and know when to reach for outside support. Qualities we are Seeking Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive employee and company information, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity. Attention to detail & quality of work. Ensure documentation is consistent & sound, personnel files are neat and orderly, and can dabble in the numbers, ie has an ability to reconcile benefit carrier invoices. Confidence in performing HR tasks independently while also being a team player and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning, process improvement, and professional growth. A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements to enhance how we hire, develop, and retain people. Demonstrate ability to operate both strategically and hands-on. The successful candidate for the HR Manager role at GP Companies, Inc. will bring a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach, exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations, and build strong relationships throughout the organization. Someone who can address everyday HR needs while also helping GP strengthen its people practices, employee experience, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
