Responsibilities - What you'll do The Department of Corrections is looking for a dynamic leader to spearhead exciting new initiatives in the Employee Health Wellness and Support (EHWS) section of the Division of Human Services. Applicants should be able to work in close collaboration with the Division's Leadership as well as Department's Executive staff and advise on all matters pertaining to the division. The Assistant Division Director will be expected to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders as well as other State and local agencies and thrive in an environment of continual change. The Assistant Division Director is responsible for the direct supervision of 6 direct reports in the areas of Employee Health, Employee Wellness, Employee Trauma, Employee Support and PCIS unit. Some direct and indirect supervision will be for staff located in various locations throughout the state. There are currently 52 staff that fall under the EHWS umbrella. The ideal candidate will have the initiative and drive to continue pushing the department's health, wellness and support initiatives and goals to fruition as well as continually develop the program. This is a section of continual growth; this position must identify program priorities and direct the development and implementation of new programs and services. Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should have extensive knowledge and expertise in administration, overall management of an organization and the ability to make decisions. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated competencies in strategic thinking, analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to lead others in a manner which supports, promotes, and fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace. The applicant should have the skills necessary to lead, provide clear directions to team members, the ability to plan strategically and have the skills to manage and lead multiple projects. The ability to lead process improvement projects through project management principles, including the ability to develop and utilize data to evaluate project and programs, the ability to measure project and program performance, and to make adjustments based on data-driven outcomes. Additional critical skills include the ability to understand and promote the Department's mission, direction and priorities and communicate these messages to team members. Communication methods may include town halls, focus groups, one on one meetings with team members and ongoing communication. Knowledge of the state budget process is helpful. Job Details - More reasons to love this position Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive: A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center). A $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential if you work full-time at a qualifying facility. A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility. The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
