Job Description

Position Title :

HR Generalist The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. Primary Job Responsibilities Plan, direct, and manage all human resource initiatives, such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, employee retention, employee communications, legal compliance and employee relations. Oversee staff operations, business planning, and budget development of HR programs. Establish human resources objectives following organizational goals along with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Create and maintain employee orientation, development and training programs and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with employee relations policies/laws, conduct investigations as needed and respond to all employment charges.
  • Create and document policy development including but not limited to handbook, orientation guide, training videos, etc.
  • Ensure benefits are competitive regarding options, rates, etc. and make recommendations to executive team. Daily interaction with broker, carriers and employees regarding benefit compliance, inquiries, invoices, deductions, etc.
  • Actively audit HCM database versus other company systems to ensure timely and accurate information is maintained.
  • Provide guidance to field managers and leaders regarding RCX policy, HR-related topics and employee relations issues.
  • Create and administer employee safety, welfare, wellness and health programs and policy.
  • Assist with leave policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and respond to inquiries as needed, for example unemployment, employment verifications, subpoenas, etc.
  • Monitor HR team to ensure correct and timely processing of HR-related matters.
  • Communicate performance issues and ensure proper staffing of HR department.
  • Consistent and ongoing exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance (settlements, claims, lawsuits, etc.).
  • Maintain exceptional leadership skills.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all personnel, customers, vendors and other departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of data and information accessed.
  • Special projects and analysis as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned. Educational and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing HR staff and processes for at least three years.
  • HCM experience, Paycom usage preferred.
  • Experience responding to claims, charges, complaints, etc.
  • Experience in Transportation Industry preferred.
  • HR certifications preferred. Physical Qualifications
  • Position requires extended periods of time sitting.
  • Position requires extended periods of telephone and computer use. Successfully pass pre-employment reference and criminal history checks as required. Submit to and receive negative drug and/or alcohol test.
  • On call to coordinate and provide HR support and response as needed.
  • Travel as necessary to requested or related meetings including mediations and trials. Represent the company as needed in a professional and appropriate manner. Computer Skills
  • MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent skills using presentation programs such as PowerPoint.
  • Experience with normal office equipment, for example, copier, printer, fax, phone, etc.
  • HCM experience. Personal Qualifications

  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, and to exercise discretion and independent judgment, with little or no direction or supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage process, people and outcome.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
This position is typically a Monday through Friday day position but may require working hours on other days or times to provide support for immediate needs on HR matters or attend mediation or court. When not traveling, this position will report to the corporate office as required for department needs. I understand, accept and will comply with the above requirements as a Director of Human Resources with RCX. If at any time my situation changes, I agree to voluntarily notify RCX within 24 hours of the change in my ability to fully function in the Director of Human Resources position. ______________________________ _____________________________________________
Signature Pay:
$115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
