JOB ROLE SUMMARY
The HR Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the Human Resources function at Stone & Leigh. This role supports the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, performance review administration, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation, and workplace safety initiatives. The HR Manager serves as a key resource for both employees and management, providing guidance and support while ensuring HR policies and practices are applied consistently and in accordance with applicable laws and company standards. Working closely with leadership, this position helps foster a positive, safe, and productive work environment while supporting the overall goals and objectives of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinate and participate in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the hiring process.
- Conduct orientation for new employees and ensure a smooth onboarding process. II. HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Process HR-related paperwork, such as new hires, terminations, and status changes.
- Assist with strategic planning to meet company objectives and goals.
- Process weekly payroll. III. Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Assist employees with benefit related inquiries and issues. IV. Performance Administration
- Provide support in performance feedback, goal setting, and professional development.
- Provide key information to department managers for the performance process. V. Employee Relations
- Handle employee inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Mediate conflicts and facilitate communication between employees and management.
- Promote a positive work environment and employee morale. This may include events planned for employees, as well as reward systems. VI. Compliance/Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, anti-discrimination laws, health and safety regulations, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Implement/maintain policies and practices that company with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the first aid supply and be initial contact for treatment of injuries. This includes setting employees up with urgent care if needed, and creating a workers compensation claim when necessary.
- Manage safety initiatives for the plant.
VII. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Prior HR experience, with a strong understanding of HR principles and policies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Prior payroll processing experience a plus.
Paycom Payroll System experience a plus.
