Human Resources Manager Midland University - Fremont, NE 68025 Apply Apply Description Midland University, a private liberal arts University in Fremont, NE, is seeking a Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager serves as the primary practitioner for all human resources services, including onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management. This role balances daily operational tasks with the proactive development of initiatives designed to strengthen Midland's employee engagement, performance and retention. Primary Responsibilities
- Cultivate an environment where employees can thrive through proactive employee programming, effective internal communication, and professional growth initiatives.
- Support the annual goal-setting and evaluation process, coaching supervisors on how to provide meaningful feedback that drives engagement.
- Oversee the full employee journey from recruitment and orientation to professional development and retention initiatives.
- Coordinate the delivery of the university's benefit programs (Medical, 403b, Tuition Remission) and serve as the primary liaison for insurance providers.
- Facilitate employee relations by helping supervisors and staff identify resources to resolve personal or employment concerns.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Office to ensure integrity of personnel data and provide support for payroll processes through effective management of the HR Information System (Paycom).
- Ensure the university remains technically versed and compliant with labor laws including FMLA, ADA and Title IX. Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact positively with faculty, staff and administration.
- Must maintain extreme levels of confidentiality, be self-directed and flexible.
- Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships across diverse departments and a passion for the unique mission of small, private higher education. Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree required Experience
- 3-5 years of human resource experience
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and/or Google Suite
- Experience with HR Information System platforms (Paycom experience is a plus) and a strong understanding of how HR data integrates with payroll and Business Office functions.
- Experience or the ability to navigate the complexities of a campus environment, including managing varied faculty workflows and aligning HR practices with the university's mission to serve students.
