Job Description
Responsibilities:
HR Manager with broad, hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle Full-cycle recruiting experience including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, background checks, and onboarding Experience writing job descriptions and understanding exempt vs. non-exempt classifications Strong employee relations background, including performance management, coaching managers, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations Experience administering benefits, leave management, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and PTO tracking Exposure to compensation analysis and benefits administration HR compliance expertise with federal and state employment laws Experience maintaining HR policies, employee handbooks, SOPs, and HR documentation Strong HRIS and employee records management experience Experience supporting payroll processes and working with payroll vendors Ability to manage and improve HR processes and identify HR best practices Experience conducting performance review programs and supporting leadership teams Strong training and development experience, including compliance training and manager coaching Experience managing vendor relationships such as benefits brokers, payroll providers, and background screening companies Comfortable tracking HR metrics, reporting, turnover analysis, and headcount reporting Ability to foster employee engagement, workplace culture, and employee recognition initiatives What will make someone stand out: Experience serving as the primary HR contact for an organization Strong employee relations and performance management expertise Experience advising executives and department leaders on HR matters Ability to build HR processes, policies, and infrastructure from the ground up Experience in nonprofit, legal services, professional services, or mission-driven organizations Strong communication skills with a high level of discretion and confidentiality Self-starter who can work independently and wear multiple hats in a small-to-midsize organization Requirements- 3+ years of human resources experience, including responsibility for employee relations, HR administration, and onboarding activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compensation, benefits administration, leave management, and core employment compliance requirements.
- Experience using HRIS platforms and maintaining accurate, confidential employee records and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across recruiting, policy administration, training coordination, and employee support functions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, and senior leadership.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive personnel matters and confidential information.
- Experience drafting or revising job descriptions, policies, and HR procedures in a structured environment.
- Familiarity with performance management processes, corrective action documentation, and workplace investigations or issue resolution support.
