Now we're looking for a highly capable, personable, and experienced HR Manager to help us find the next wave of them. This is a pivotal role. You will be the person responsible for finding, interviewing, and hiring the best minds, thinkers, and sellers in the industry across every function of the company, from sales and e-commerce to social media and creative leadership. You will also manage the day-to-day HR operations that keep our team supported and running smoothly. The ideal candidate is a proactive recruiter with sharp instincts for talent, strong administrative discipline, and the drive to build a team worthy of the best rug company in the country. Responsibilities Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Own the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and screening to interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding. Recruit and hire top-tier talent across the company, including sales, e-commerce, social media, marketing, and creative director positions. Partner with the Principal and department leaders to define role requirements, hiring priorities, and staffing needs. Write compelling job descriptions and advertise open roles across job boards, industry networks, and social platforms. Proactively headhunt and build relationships with leading professionals in the design, art, luxury, and rug industries, including those who aren't looking until the right opportunity finds them. Conduct thorough interviews and assessments to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit. Deliver a candidate experience that reflects the caliber of Rug & Kilim, so every applicant, hired or not, leaves impressed. HR Operations and Administration Manage payroll, including processing, accuracy, and timely payment of all employees. Oversee onboarding, employee records, and core HR administration. Manage employee matters across the organization, including status changes, documentation, and day-to-day personnel needs. Develop, maintain, and update the employee handbook, ensuring policies are current, clear, and consistently communicated. Draft and distribute company announcements and internal communications. Administer open enrollment for health benefits, guiding employees through their options and coordinating with benefits providers. Employee Relations and Performance Field employee questions and concerns with discretion, empathy, and professionalism, resolving issues promptly or escalating when appropriate. Lead year-end performance reviews, including coordinating the process, supporting managers, and documenting outcomes. Support employee engagement, retention, and performance management practices that keep top performers with us. Compliance and Confidentiality Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain confidentiality in all HR matters. Qualifications Prior experience in Human Resources is required, with a proven track record of successfully recruiting and hiring across diverse roles. Experience managing payroll, benefits administration (including open enrollment), and employee handbook development is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to identify and attract high-caliber talent, including creative and leadership positions. Experience recruiting for sales, e-commerce, digital marketing, or creative roles is strongly preferred. Exceptional interviewing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. High level of discretion and trustworthiness when handling confidential information. Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Familiarity with or interest in the high-end design, art, or rug industry is a plus. Compensation Salary range of $60,000
- $80,000, commensurate with experience.
