Job Description

Vinson & Elkins is seeking a project finance associate or senior associate for its New York office. Candidates should have 4 or more years of experience (J.D. class of 2022 or earlier). A Vault Law 100 firm and one of the Best Law Firms to Work For, where associates call it "honestly the best BigLaw can get," V&E is a recognized leader in project and infrastructure finance, and its New York project finance team plays a central role in the firm's renewables, energy transition, and data center financing practices. Candidates should have significant transactional experience in debt project finance and/or tax equity transactions. For debt project finance, relevant experience includes preparation, review, and negotiation of credit agreements, intercreditor arrangements, collateral documents, and other ancillary financing documents. For tax equity, relevant experience includes equity capital contribution agreements, membership interest purchase agreements, LLC agreements, tax credit purchase agreements, and related ancillary documents. Candidates should also have significant experience reviewing and conducting due diligence on key project agreements, including joint venture agreements, offtake, EPC, O&M, and other project agreements. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge transactions — including renewable energy project financings, tax equity investments, data center financings, carbon capture, and other emerging technologies — close collaboration with leading practitioners across the firm's energy and finance platforms, and a firm-wide commitment to associate training, direct client contact, and early business development opportunities. The annual base salary ranges from $310,000+. Salary determinations are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, year classification, graduation year, skills, and experience level.
