Director of Human Resources Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead all human resources functions while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office. This role will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, helping drive talent initiatives, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and compliance across the organization. Responsibilities Human Resources Leadership Lead and manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, learning and development, and offboarding. Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational objectives and long-term growth initiatives. Design, implement, and enhance HR policies, programs, and processes to support employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness. Develop and administer performance management programs, including annual reviews, goal-setting processes, feedback initiatives, and employee development planning. Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, performance concerns, conflict resolution, coaching, investigations, and disciplinary actions. Manage employee benefits programs, leave administration, and employee wellness initiatives. Oversee talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, job description development, recruitment strategies, candidate selection, and partnership with external recruiting firms. Lead onboarding initiatives to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for new employees. Maintain employee records and HRIS data within BambooHR, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor required certifications, trainings, and compliance-related documentation. Stay current on employment law developments, HR best practices, and industry trends, proactively recommending improvements where appropriate. Employee Engagement & Culture Develop and lead employee engagement programs designed to support a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. Organize employee events, recognition programs, team-building activities, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers across the organization. Office Management & Operations Oversee the daily operations of the office, ensuring a professional, efficient, and well-maintained work environment. Manage office facilities, vendor relationships, equipment, and operational needs. Supervise administrative staff and provide leadership, coaching, and workflow management support. Develop and improve office processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and service levels. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support organizational operations and special projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Progressive human resources experience, including leadership responsibilities. Prior experience overseeing office operations and administrative functions. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Experience managing employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, benefits administration, and talent acquisition. Hands-on experience with HRIS systems; BambooHR experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leadership. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
