Job Description
At Safe Opportunity Foster Alliance (SOFA) our mission is to provide safe, compassionate, and stabilizing short-term care for foster youth. We keep youth connected to their home communities while prioritizing their voice and choice in every decision. Through timely coordination, individualized services, and trauma informed care, we aim to reduce disruption, promote healing and prepare each youth for their best next step. Position Overview The HR & Fiscal Specialist is a dual-role position responsible for both human resources and financial management functions. This role oversees recruitment, onboarding, and staff compliance tracking, while also managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks, and comfortable balancing HR responsibilities with fiscal oversight. Key Responsibilities Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with state and accreditation standards. Track staff training, licensure, and compliance requirements. Schedules outside trainings as required and provides internal employee training. Assist with employee relations, performance evaluations, and corrective action processes. Process payroll accurately and on time using Paycor. Manage accounts payable and receivable; maintain up-to-date financial records. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports using Quickbooks for reconciliation, forecasting, and compliance tracking. Assist with budget development, financial forecasting, and expense tracking. Provide documentation for audits, licensing reviews, and regulatory inspections. Promote a positive, professional, and trauma-informed workplace culture. Qualifications Associate's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor's preferred). Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, payroll, fiscal management, or nonprofit administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and reporting) and QuickBooks (payroll, accounts, reconciliations). Knowledge of HR best practices, nonprofit accounting principles, and regulatory compliance. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to handle confidential information. Must meet state requirements for background checks and hold a valid Ohio driver's license.
