Position Summary The Director of Human Resources provides strategic and operational leadership for all HR functions within a psychiatric hospital environment. This role is responsible for building a compliant, engaged, and high-performing workforce that supports quality patient care, regulatory excellence, and organizational growth in a behavioral health setting. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute the hospital's human resources strategy, aligning workforce initiatives with organizational goals and behavioral health care standards Oversee talent management, retention, succession planning, and employee engagement Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards (including Joint Commission and CMS) Serve as a trusted advisor to executive and clinical leadership on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development Manage labor relations, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution with consistency and discretion Oversee compensation, benefits administration, leave management, and HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance Design and support leadership development, workforce planning, and staff training initiatives tailored to psychiatric and behavioral health care environments Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization Analyze workforce data and HR metrics to inform strategic decision-making and improve retention and performance Qualifications & Experience Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required Bachelors/ Master's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline preferred Minimum of 2 years of progressive HR leadership experience in a healthcare or hospital setting Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health environments strongly preferred In-depth knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and healthcare compliance requirements Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence senior leadership, and manage complex employee relations matters Why You'll Love Working Here (Full-Time Benefits) Multiple medical plan options, including Vista Wellness (physician and pharmacy coverage) Dental and vision insurance options Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution Life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage Tuition reimbursement up to $15,000 Student loan forgiveness and education assistance programs
