About The Role We're looking for an experienced Associate Director, Human Resources (on-site) for our nonclinical research site in Scranton, PA who thrives on building trust, strengthening culture, and supporting teams dedicated to advancing medical breakthroughs. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees across two sites (Scranton, PA and Columbia, MO). The Associate Director, Human Resources (HR) is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that are fully aligned with business and global HR strategies. Working closely with the Director, HR, the Associate Director, HR will also develop, implement and monitor the best HR practices and programs that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality and productivity to enable sustainable and profitable business growth. What You'll Do Here Develop and maintain strong working relationships with leaders and team members to create a partnership that yields results and credibility Act as senior advisor across the site providing guidance to management and leads in employee related issues i.e., performance evaluations, employee relations, mediation, succession plans, compensation, departmental organization and disciplinary procedures Manage and coach the HR direct report and assist them in their professional development Establish partnerships across the HR function and ensure a constant application of the best practices to deliver an added-value service to management and employees to contribute to the achievement of the business objectives of the organization Analyze key performance indicators and HR data in order to provide managers with sound recommendations and areas for improvement Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance and partner with external legal counsel as needed/required Develop, plan and implement key change initiatives to foster a work climate conducive to employee retention Ensure a widespread application of Altasciences performance management and evaluation processes and drive a culture of regular feedback Participate in the continuous improvement of HR programs such as employee benefits, compensation, performance reviews and recognition in line with the best practices in the industry and in respect of the laws rules Ensure the establishment and respect of the various government programs in force (pay equity, francization, health and safety, etc.) Responsible for OHS records and prevention at work which includes an active health and safety committee and developing and monitoring prevention program Responsible for full cycle of recruitment and selection of personnel for the organization using social media, talent acquisition networks and agencies to support efforts May assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related visa processing Ensure the onboarding program provides managers with the tools and resources required for a successful new employee integration Lead development and facilitation of various training and employer branding initiatives predicated on business needs and corporate goals in collaboration with SR HR Director Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs and follow-up to ensure training objectives are met Requirements What You'll Need to Succeed Bachelor degree in human resources or administration Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities 3 plus years related experience in management SHRM-CP/SCP or
HRCI-PHR/SPHR
professional designations preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees, HR, and leadership, including in presentations and meetings Strong interpersonal and relationship building abilities Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information. Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate company and employee needs and make recommendations for implementation
