$90,000 - $120,000 per year Job Details - We are looking for a talented Human Resources Manager to join our growing team in Southwest Michigan. This is a motivated self-starter who applies business knowledge and HR expertise to own and manage all human resource activities, including benefit programs and employee engagement, while positioning the company for continued growth. A successful Human Resources Manager works with minimal supervision, brings a "can do" attitude and creative problem-solving skills, and is willing to do what it takes to get the job done well. You have excellent interpersonal skills, great attention to detail, and the organization to juggle multiple priorities without losing momentum.
Job Duties:
Lead recruitment, interviewing, and hiring for managerial, production, exempt, and professional roles, ensuring new hires meet the qualifications for the position Provide leadership, direction, and day-to-day management of HR Coordinator staff, including setting priorities, assigning responsibilities, coaching and development, and monitoring performance Lead new hire orientation and onboarding, introducing new employees to the company culture Manage employee benefit programs, benefits administration, and employee engagement programs Manage all STD, LTD, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and Unemployment claims Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development Monitor and manage compliance with Health Care Reform requirements and federal, state, and local employment laws Support the Safety Program in collaboration with Operations Counsel and guide leaders and managers on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and compliance Serve as the point of contact for team members on employment-related questions, policies, procedures, and programs Maintain and administer the Employee Handbook and HR policies; review regularly and recommend updates so policies stay current with the law and are consistently communicated and applied Oversee payroll and timekeeping administration (ADP), ensuring employee information, time records, and payroll changes are accurate and timely; support HR staff handling payroll and onboarding, and serve as payroll backup as needed Oversee the integrity of personnel, timekeeping, and HR records, keeping them accurate, complete, and confidential Ensure personnel files, qualifications, and required employment documentation are current, including record retention requirements Communicate confidently across a variety of channels, with strong networking and relationship-building skills Promote company culture and open communication between the company and its employees Support team-building activities Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or 4+ years of equivalent work experience 3+ years of Human Resources experience PHR or SHRM certification preferred Manufacturing or medical device experience a plus Strong organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working directly with employees Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Schedule Monday through Friday, primarily on-site, with occasional extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to minimize interruption to production. The work environment includes an office setting, manufacturing work cells, and cleanroom environments.
