Staff Development & Retention Manager CrossRoads Families Supportive Living Community Position Summary The Staff Development & Retention Manager is responsible for developing and coordinating organization-wide initiatives designed to strengthen employee satisfaction, retention, professional development, connection, and overall workplace well-being at RISE. This position serves as a dedicated resource for staff, creating accessible opportunities for employees to provide feedback, identify workplace needs, access supportive resources, and participate in activities that promote connection and a healthy workplace culture. The Staff Development & Retention Manager coordinates staff appreciation and recognition initiatives, wellness and self-care opportunities, team-building activities, professional development, and employee feedback processes. The role also develops community partnerships that expand access to wellness and supportive services for RISE employees. This position is not a clinical or therapeutic role . The Staff Support Manager creates a supportive space for employees to share experiences, needs, and concerns while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and connecting staff with leadership, HR, or external resources when appropriate. This position operates within a hybrid work model, with regular on-site presence expected to maintain connection and familiarity with staff. A designated private office space is available as needed. Remote work is permitted based on organizational and position needs, with a minimum of 80% of work time expected to be on-site or in-office.
Anticipated Breakdown of Responsibilities and Correlated Time Commitment:
Community Outreach, Training and Workshop Facilitation, and Partnership Development - 80% of time Administrative Duties, i.e. data input and reporting, emails and communication, staff meetings - 20% of time Essential Duties & Responsibilities Staff Engagement, Satisfaction & Retention Develop initiatives that strengthen employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention. Conduct staff surveys and periodic check-ins to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Track staff satisfaction and retention trends and provide recommendations to leadership. Staff Feedback & Support Maintain a confidential and accessible process for employees to share feedback, concerns, and workplace needs. Provide a supportive space for staff to be heard while maintaining appropriate professional and non-clinical boundaries. Connect staff with appropriate internal or external resources when additional support is needed. Wellness & Community Partnerships Develop community partnerships that increase employee access to wellness, recreation, self-care, and stress-management opportunities. Coordinate staff wellness activities, passes, incentives, and other supportive resources. Identify creative, accessible, and cost-effective opportunities that support employee well-being. Staff Appreciation & Team Building Coordinate staff appreciation events, team-building activities, and employee recognition initiatives. Recognize birthdays, employment anniversaries, certifications, professional accomplishments, and other milestones. Develop opportunities for peer recognition and celebration of employees who demonstrate teamwork, communication, and quality service. Professional Development Identify staff training and professional development needs in collaboration with employees and leadership. Coordinate trainings, workshops, lunch-and-learns, and other learning opportunities. Support employees pursuing certifications or continuing education by helping identify requirements, resources, and next steps. Data & Continuous Improvement Establish baseline measures for staff satisfaction, engagement, and retention. Monitor participation and feedback related to staff-support initiatives. Use employee feedback and data to continually improve workforce-support efforts. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in human services, business administration, organizational development, social sciences, nonprofit management, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience . Minimum 2-3 years of experience in staff supervision, employee engagement, program coordination, workforce development, nonprofit operations, or a related area. Experience coordinating projects, events, trainings, or organization-wide initiatives. Knowledge of employee satisfaction assessment, survey development, evaluation methods, and workforce retention strategies. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build trust while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality. Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in nonprofit, behavioral health, recovery, homelessness, social services, or other human-service environments. Experience developing employee wellness, recognition, retention, or professional development initiatives. Experience building community partnerships and securing donated or reduced-cost resources. Familiarity with peer-support certification and continuing education requirements. Experience collecting and analyzing employee feedback or workforce data. Compensation $40 per hour Part-time at 20 hours per week
