Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, high-capacity Senior HR Manager to support multiple growing departments. This role will serve as a key leader in day-to-day human resources operations, supporting approximately 200 workers across a mix of W-2 employees and 1099 contractors. The ideal candidate is a strong decision-maker who can operate independently with minimal guidance, while also partnering closely with leadership on people strategy, manager development, employee engagement, and process improvement. This position requires someone who is organized, adaptable, professional, and capable of wearing many hats across several separate companies. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building structure, and can balance employee support, manager accountability, and business needs. Key Responsibilities HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Lead and manage core HR processes across multiple companies and employee groups Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and a strong employee experience Maintain and improve HR procedures, workflows, and documentation across all supported entities Ensure personnel records, employee files, and HR data are accurate, organized, and up to date Benefits Administration Manage employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations Lead annual open enrollment processes and employee communications Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit questions and education Coordinate with benefit vendors and brokers to resolve issues and improve plan administration Help evaluate and strengthen benefits-related processes and employee understanding Performance Management & Manager Support Partner with managers to improve performance management practices and strengthen accountability Coach managers through employee performance concerns, documentation, corrective action, and difficult conversations Help build consistency in performance expectations, follow-up, and leadership practices across departments and companies Support leadership in developing managers who can effectively lead teams, handle conflict, and drive engagement Employee Relations & Compliance Conduct or support internal investigations, employee issue resolution, and disciplinary processes Assist with policy interpretation, handbook updates, and HR compliance processes Help ensure proper classification, documentation, and HR process consistency for both W-2 employees and 1099 contractors Culture & Employee Engagement Coordinate and organize one monthly office social or employee engagement event Support employee recognition efforts and programs that reinforce a positive workplace culture Partner with leadership to improve engagement and retention across multiple teams and businesses Strategic & Process Improvement Support Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve HR systems and processes Help standardize HR practices where appropriate while supporting the unique needs of each company Support leadership initiatives related to retention, engagement, organizational health, and people operations Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience 5-8+ years of HR experience , with strong exposure to employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management Experience supporting managers and handling sensitive employee matters independently Strong understanding of HR best practices, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes Ability to manage multiple priorities across separate businesses and employee groups High level of professionalism, discretion, judgment, and follow-through Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams Preferred Experience in a multi-entity or shared-services HR environment Experience supporting blue-collar, field-based, operational, or service-oriented workforces Experience working with both W-2 employee populations and independent contractor environments Experience in transportation, logistics, home services, or other fast-paced operational industries Experience using BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms Experience in Leveraging AI and other technology tools to improve HR efficiency, streamline administrative processes, enhance communication, and support scalable people operations
