Texas and Tennessee Position summary The Human Resources Director will build and lead a practical, compliant people function across Hillstone Pharmacy in Knoxville and Stratum Compounding Pharmacy in Coppell. This hands-on leader will partner with ownership and operational leaders to recruit and retain strong teams, establish consistent policies and systems, lead employee relations and conflict resolution, coordinate compliant offboarding, support a positive workplace, and manage employment risk in a highly regulated healthcare environment. The role combines strategy with day-to-day execution and requires sound judgment, discretion, responsiveness, and comfort supporting employees across two states and multiple functions. Key responsibilities Human resources leadership and infrastructure- Develop and execute a people strategy aligned with growth, patient safety, operational quality, and business priorities across both entities.
- Build scalable HR programs, policies, workflows, service standards, and reporting while preserving appropriate entity-level records and practices.
- Advise ownership and senior leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, compensation, employee relations, succession, and change management.
- Select, implement, and administer HR systems for payroll coordination, timekeeping, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, performance, training, and personnel records. Talent acquisition onboarding and retention
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for pharmacy, laboratory, quality, fulfillment, customer service, sales, and corporate roles; improve time to fill, candidate quality, and hiring-manager accountability.
- Create consistent job descriptions, interview guides, selection practices, offer processes, background-check workflows, and onboarding plans.
- Develop retention, engagement, recognition, career-development, and succession initiatives informed by workforce data and employee feedback. Employee relations and performance
- Lead employee relations across both entities and serve as a trusted, accessible resource for employees and managers; receive concerns, conduct prompt and impartial investigations, identify root causes, and recommend consistent, well-documented resolutions.
- Coach managers on feedback, performance expectations, corrective action, leave, accommodations, attendance, conduct, and separations; facilitate conflict resolution and mediation when workplace disagreements affect performance, teamwork, or culture.
- Partner with management and the payroll representative to plan and execute compliant offboarding, including required approvals and documentation, final-pay coordination, benefits and access notifications, return of company property, exit communications, and timely updates to HR and payroll records.
- Design and maintain a performance-management process with clear goals, regular check-ins, calibration, development plans, and consistent documentation. Compliance benefits and risk management
- Maintain compliant employment practices across Tennessee and Texas and monitor applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including wage and hour, leave, equal employment opportunity, accommodations, workplace safety, privacy, and record retention.
- Partner with pharmacy leadership, compliance, and quality teams so personnel files, credentials, licenses, training, competencies, and inspection-related workforce records remain complete and audit ready.
- Administer benefit programs and vendor relationships, including 401(k) and medical, dental, and vision plans; manage enrollments, employee communications, reconciliations, and annual renewal support.
- Oversee workers compensation, unemployment, employment claims, required postings, handbook updates, and coordination with employment counsel or brokers when needed.
- Protect confidential employee, payroll, benefits, and health information and reinforce HIPAA-aware practices where workforce duties involve protected health information. Culture analytics and operations
- Promote a respectful, accountable, patient-centered culture across sites, shifts, and functional teams.
- Establish useful workforce metrics and provide leadership reporting on headcount, turnover, vacancies, labor cost, overtime, engagement, training, and compliance trends.
- Prepare and manage the HR budget and evaluate vendors, insurance partners, and outside advisers for quality, compliance, and value.
- Travel to Tennessee and Texas sites as needed to maintain visible HR support, understand operations, and lead key initiatives. Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Three or more years of progressive human resources experience, including broad responsibility for employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, benefits, performance management, and HR operations.
- At least three years leading an HR function or serving as the senior HR partner for a growing, multi-site organization.
- Working knowledge of federal employment requirements and experience applying employment practices across more than one state.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct workplace investigations, coach leaders through sensitive matters, and produce clear, defensible documentation.
- Strong project-management, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; high integrity and discretion with confidential information.
- Ability to travel between Tennessee and Texas and to work on site when business needs require. Preferred qualifications
- Human resources leadership experience in pharmacy, healthcare, life sciences, laboratory, manufacturing, or another regulated environment.
- Experience supporting 503A compounding-pharmacy operations, credentialing or licensure tracking, inspection readiness, or quality-system training records.
- Professional certification such as SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR.
- Experience selecting or improving an HRIS, payroll platform, applicant tracking system, or benefits administration process.
- Experience supporting organizational growth, a new facility launch, or the integration of policies and culture across affiliated entities.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per yearBenefits:
