Job Description

KMP Plumbing, Heating & Air is seeking an experienced, organized, and highly professional HR Manager to oversee the day-to-day Human Resources functions of our growing company. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building strong processes, supporting employees and leadership, maintaining accurate records, and making sure the details don't fall through the cracks. Our HR Manager will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle—from benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and separation. We are looking for someone who can be approachable and supportive while also maintaining confidentiality, consistency, accountability, and professional boundaries . Key Responsibilities Manage the complete new-hire onboarding and employee separation process Maintain and administer BambooHR , including employee records, onboarding tasks, time-off policies, benefits information, and HR documentation Ensure timely and accurate completion and retention of Form I-9, W-4, direct deposit, handbook acknowledgments, and other required employment documentation Maintain organized and accurate personnel and compliance records Manage employee benefit enrollment, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations Coordinate COBRA administration and required employee notifications Assist with payroll-related employee changes, deductions, benefits, and employee information Coordinate background checks and other required pre-employment screenings Maintain and administer company policies and the Employee Handbook Assist managers with employee relations, attendance, performance, coaching, corrective action, and documentation Help ensure consistent application of company policies across departments and locations Track required licenses, certifications, training, and other employee documentation Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding employee, payroll, compensation, medical, and company information Monitor changes in federal and Texas employment requirements and help maintain company compliance Develop and maintain HR procedures, checklists, and SOPs Conduct periodic audits of employee files, I-9s, onboarding records, benefits, and other HR documentation Serve as a professional and dependable resource for employees and management Support company culture while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries at all levels of the organization Perform other HR and administrative responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For Previous Human Resources experience required HR management or HR generalist experience strongly preferred Experience managing onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and HR compliance Experience with an HRIS; BambooHR experience is strongly preferred Working knowledge of federal and Texas employment practices Strong understanding of confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive employee information Excellent organizational and documentation skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle difficult or sensitive conversations professionally Comfortable holding employees and managers accountable to established policies and procedures Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and follow through without constant oversight Strong attention to detail and willingness to identify and correct process gaps The Right Person for This Role understands that great HR requires both people skills and process discipline . $70,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
