Job Description
Essential Tasks/Functions:
- Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, and employee relations.
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
- Maintain electronic and paper records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and discharge rates.
- Develop or administer special projects in Human Resource areas such as data analysis and reporting, new benefit programs and employee awards.
- Manage the federally approved Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Interact with testing vendors, federal auditors, and employees, monitor and enforce random testing.
- Request information from previous employers and other references to determine applicants' background.
- Process, verify, and maintain employee documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training records, grievances, medical records, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain current knowledge of equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and other labor regulations.
- Maintain records related to employment events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Degree in Human Resources, business, transportation, or other relevant subject. 4 years' work experience (in addition to the minimum experience) in Human Resources may be substituted for degree requirement.Professional Certification:
None.Experience:
No less than 5 years' work experience in Human Resources, preferably in a highly regulated industry. Experience using modern Human Resource software such as Applicant Tracking, HR, timekeeping, or benefits oriented systems. No less than 3 years' experience leading others, including direct supervision and setting priorities of work, performance management, training, and professional development.Computer Skills:
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products includingOutlook, Word, Excel and Power Point Other:
