Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day human resources activities for a manufacturing site, ensuring consistent support for employees, supervisors, and leadership.
- Review employee timekeeping records and coordinate payroll-related administration to help maintain accurate compensation processing.
- Lead the onboarding experience for new employees, including orientation sessions, employment documentation, and work authorization verification.
- Manage scheduling-related HR support and help maintain organized employee records and administrative processes.
- Administer benefits-related activities, including supporting annual open enrollment and responding to employee questions about available programs.
- Address employee relations matters within a union environment, including assisting with grievances and helping ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up.
- Partner with the broader HR team on special projects and operational priorities as business needs evolve.
- Support HR process improvements and assist with activities related to the transition from manual workflows to Workday.
- Promote compliance with company policies, employment requirements, and plant-level HR procedures across the workforce. Requirements
- 5+ years of human resources experience, including responsibility for employee relations and HR administration.
- Prior experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial workforce in a unionized setting.
- Experience coordinating onboarding, orientation for permanent employees, and I-9 completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with benefits administration and open enrollment processes.
- Ability to manage union grievance support with professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- Experience using HRIS platforms and adapting to evolving HR systems and processes.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills with the ability to handle ad hoc priorities effectively.
