This position reports directly to the HR Manager. The HR Generalist is responsible for managing all human resources functions in conjunction with corporate policies/guidelines and applicable state and federal laws. This role will report to the HR Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of qualified job applicants. Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations. Coordinate with temporary and recruiting agencies as needed. Regularly communicate with all employees in the facility on any and all HR related matters Coordinate with Management and Plant Leadership to make sure that everyone is enforcing the company policies and practices. Develop/Maintain Job Descriptions Administer and process FMLA requests.conduct proper investigations and determine resolutions in regards to employee grievances Prepare and Maintain Shift Maps and communicate staffing changes to the Management team Update and regularly maintain plant HRIS systems and Benefit Systems. Work with benefit carriers on a regular basis and administer benefits to the employees. Assist in maintaining time and attendance for the employees and process payroll on a weekly basis in ADP. Provide Accounting with HR Manager's approval of monthly financial reports or payroll and benefits. Focuses on Employee Engagement initiatives and communicates/collaborates with the Leadership Team/Management Team on these items Assist in completing required audits and reports as needed in regards to all HR functions. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Works regularly with the EHS Manager on any items related to incidents, workers compensations issues, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bilingual in is required BS degree in Human Resources Management, or similar plus 1-2 years of related work experience; or 3-5 years of relevant work experience is preferred. HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and/or SPHR preferred. Strong knowledge and experience with the ADP system is preferred. Strong knowledge of applicable employment law is required. Ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritize, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds
