Job Description Cogswell Motors, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources and Payroll Clerk to join our business office team. In this dual-function administrative role, you will be responsible for overseeing employee recordkeeping, managing bi-weekly dealership payroll processing, administering employee benefits, and assisting department managers with onboarding and recruiting. The ideal candidate is a discreet professional with a background in payroll software systems, accounting, and HR administration. You will serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, pay structure calculations, and company policies. If you bring strong numerical accuracy, high ethical standards, and excellent organizational skills, we want to hear from you. Previous experience processing payroll and handling general HR administrative duties is required; bookkeeping is a plus.Tech Literacy:
Proficiency with computerized payroll platforms and Microsoft Excel.Confidentiality:
Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive personal, payroll, and financial information with complete discretion. Ability to commute to Russellville, AR.Responsibilities Payroll Processing:
Collect, review, and process timesheets, commission sheets, technician flag hours, and salary adjustments for dealership personnel accurately and timely.HR Recordkeeping:
Maintain confidential employee files, track attendance, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations.Onboarding and Recruitment:
Coordinate job postings, assist department heads with applicant tracking, conduct new-hire orientation, and process background checks and employment verifications.Benefits Administration:
Guide employees through benefit enrollments, handle insurance reconciliations, and serve as the liaison between employees and third-party benefit providers.Audit and Reporting:
Reconcile monthly payroll registers, prepare payroll tax reports alongside the Business Manager, and perform regular personnel audits.Employee Communication:
Answer employee questions regarding paystubs, paid time off (PTO) balances, company policies, and workplace benefits in a warm, professional manner. Qualifications High attention to detail with exceptional mathematical and analytical skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Human Resources is preferred. Familiarity with flat-rate labor calculations, sales commission draw structures, and dealership pay plans is preferred.
