Job Description
Bakersfield, CA | Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire | Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM Exact Staff is seeking a reliable and knowledgeable Human Resource Generalist who specializes in Leave of Absence processes for a fast-paced medical family practice organization in Bakersfield, CA. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in leave program coordination and administration, handling confidential employee files, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and delivering excellent customer service.
What You'll Be Doing:
Serve as the subject matter expert for leave of absence and workers' compensation programs, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and California laws, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, SDI, ADA, OSHA, and workers' compensation regulations Administer and manage leave and workers' compensation cases, including eligibility determinations, documentation, case tracking, and claim coordination Review medical documentation and maintain confidential employee records in accordance with HIPAA and privacy requirements Coordinate with employees, HR, Payroll, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure accurate and timely case management Monitor leave balances, payroll impacts, required documentation, deadlines, and return-to-work processes Maintain regular communication with employees throughout their leave and coordinate appropriate return-to-work requirements and accommodations Prepare and analyze HR reports, leave metrics, workers' compensation data, and compliance documentation Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and personnel programs Support employee benefits administration, including medical, dental, life, disability, wellness, and retirement programs Assist with employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and other HR initiatives as needed Support EEO, affirmative action, and other regulatory compliance requirements and reporting Maintain accurate personnel records, HR databases, and confidential employee files Collaborate with HR leadership on departmental goals, process improvements, special projects, and organizational initiativesQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, human resources, business, or a related field preferred 1-3 years of experience in leave administration, human resources, medical benefits, or a related healthcare setting Knowledge of FMLA, disability leave, and other applicable leave regulations preferred Experience handling confidential medical and employee information Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple leave cases, deadlines, and priorities effectively Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with employees, healthcare providers, and managementPay, Schedule, and Location Pay Rate:
