Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll & Recruiting Specialist to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate compensation for employees, and overseeing recruiting activities to attract top talent. Your expertise in payroll management, HRIS systems, and recruiting strategies will drive efficiency and support our organizational growth. Duties Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation. Perform data entry and reconciliation of payroll data, including hours worked, benefits, taxes, and deductions, utilizing accounting software like QuickBooks or Ceridian. Oversee benefits administration by coordinating enrollments, changes, and compliance with applicable regulations. Conduct account reconciliation and analysis related to payroll transactions, general ledger entries, and tax filings. Support recruiting efforts by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating onboarding activities. Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms to streamline recruitment workflows and maintain accurate candidate records. Collaborate with finance and human resources teams on accounts payable/receivable related to payroll expenses and vendor payments. Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations related to payroll and benefits. Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting procedures as needed, including journal entries and account reconciliation. Maintain meticulous records of payroll transactions, employee information, and recruitment documentation for audit readiness. Skills Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Workday, UltiPro, PeopleSoft or Kronos is essential for managing employee data efficiently. Strong knowledge of payroll management software including ADP, Paychex, Ceridian or similar systems. Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or specialized financial software for payroll processing. Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation. Familiarity with benefits administration processes and non-profit or governmental accounting standards. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency). Ability to analyze payroll data effectively to identify discrepancies or issues requiring resolution. Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll taxes and compliance requirements across different jurisdictions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments within human resources and finance teams.
