PM Compensation:
$30 per hour, depending on experience Join Our Team! So Cal Dental Partners is seeking an mature, experienced, detail-oriented Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator to join our Corporate Office. This position supports multiple dental practices throughout Southern California and plays a key role in Human Resources, payroll administration, employee benefits, compliance, employee communications, and special projects. This is not a remote position, our corporate office is located in Lake Forest, CA. Our small 2 person office supports over 170 employees and 30 doctors. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, highly organized, technology-savvy, enjoys helping people, and has a strong understanding of California Human Resources laws and payroll administration. This is not an entry-level Human Resources position. We are looking for an experienced professional who can work independently, think critically, manage multiple responsibilities, and become a trusted resource for both employees and management. Required Qualifications- Minimum 2-3 years of Human Resources experience
- Administrative experience using Paylocity (Required)
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks (a plus)
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws, wage and hour requirements, and HR compliance
- Ability to research California employment laws and confidently answer employee questions
- Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar) to improve efficiency, research HR topics, and draft communications while verifying accuracy
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, sorting, filtering, spreadsheets, and reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Publisher
- Experience using Canva preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, customer service, confidentiality, and time management skills
- Must be comfortable with working with multi-offices/departments Human Resources Responsibilities
- Conduct new employee orientations and onboarding
- Answer employee HR, payroll, and benefits questions
- Research and interpret California employment laws
- Maintain personnel files and employee records
- Track birthdays, anniversaries, licenses, CPR certifications, and doctor licensing
- Complete employment verifications and CA disability forms
- Help prepare onboarding and termination documentation
- Assist with HR compliance projects and audits Payroll & Accounting Responsibilities
- Process payroll-related information within Paylocity
- Enter manual payroll checks into Paylocity
- Review employee timecards
- Track health insurance premiums and benefit expenses
- Assist with Colonial Life, FSA, payroll reporting, and 401(k) audits
- Utilize QuickBooks for accounting support Communications & Administrative Responsibilities
- Update the employee intranet website
- Design newsletter pages using Canva and Microsoft Publisher
- Maintain employee PowerPoint photos
- Answer phones, process mail, scan and file documents
- Maintain spreadsheets and tracking logs
- Support Corporate Office administrative functions Technology Skills
