This role is responsible for caregiver skills training, competency verification, applicant onboarding, HR support, training coordination, and maintaining accurate employee training and compliance records. The ideal candidate is confident working with people, comfortable providing hands-on training, highly organized, and passionate about helping caregivers and new employees successfully complete their onboarding and training requirements.
Responsibilities:
Deliver hands-on caregiver skills training and competency checks in English and Spanish Train caregivers on ADLs/IADLs, safe transfers, body mechanics, infection control, PPE, fall prevention, client rights and dignity, emergency response, dementia care, and change-in-condition reporting Conduct and document caregiver competency evaluations using established checklists Provide annual refresher training and targeted retraining when required Maintain training equipment and ensure the training room is clean, safe, and ready for scheduled sessions Receive and process applicants from job fairs, employment events, walk-ins, and referrals Conduct applicant pre-screening and follow up with candidates throughout the onboarding process Coordinate conditional offers, identification verification, background checks, Live Scan, TB testing, CPR/First Aid, and HCA Registry verification Enroll caregivers in required TalentLMS and CareAcademy training programs Track training progress, completion, certificates, and credential expirations Assist new hires with onboarding documents, I-9, employee handbook, HIPAA/confidentiality acknowledgements, tax forms, and other required paperwork Issue employee ID badges and uniforms and ensure required documentation is complete before activation Provide bilingual support to Spanish-speaking applicants and employees throughout onboarding and training Explain forms, policies, procedures, and deadlines in Spanish and confirm understanding Maintain accurate employee training, credential, and compliance records Coordinate with HR, Caregiver Coordination, Operations, and Training teams Identify and escalate missing documentation, compliance issues, or training concerns to the HR Manager Maintain strict HIPAA, confidentiality, and recordkeeping standards
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required 2+ years of experience in hands-on training, HR support, onboarding administration, or a related field Fluent English and Spanish — required Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish Comfortable delivering hands-on training and demonstrating caregiving techniques Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new computer systems Experience with JotForm, TalentLMS, CareAcademy, AlayaCare, or Connecteam is a plus Valid California driver's license required Ability to work at both the Oxnard office and Ponderosa training location CPR/First Aid certification is a plus HR, education, healthcare, home care, or training experience is preferred Ability to work occasional early morning, evening, or weekend training sessions as scheduled
