Human Resources Generalist (Port Hueneme, CA, 93043) | 08/14/26 Job Description Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will support day-to-day HR operations for the Port Hueneme location, with a strong focus on full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits and leave administration, compliance, employee relations, and performance management. This is a hands-on HR role requiring someone who can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruitment, including confirming headcount, coordinating requisitions, posting positions, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and maintaining applicant tracking documentation. Prepare offer letters, collect acceptances, and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings. Conduct new hire orientation and prepare onboarding materials. Ensure new hire documentation is complete and employees are accurately entered into the HRIS. Manage onboarding and offboarding documentation and support temp-to-permanent employee conversions. Partner with HR, staffing partners, and hiring managers regarding candidate selection, hiring policies, and staffing needs. Provide regular updates on open positions, recruiting strategies, and hiring progress. Maintain HRIS records related to personnel, benefits, compensation, and employment status changes. Maintain employee files, generate reports, and assist with HR audits and compliance initiatives. Support benefits renewals and open enrollment. Administer and track FMLA, ADA, and other leave requests, including required documentation and return-to-work clearances. Support annual performance reviews and compensation adjustments. Provide employees and supervisors with guidance regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns. Investigate and assist with the resolution of employee issues and conflicts. Conduct periodic Form I-9 audits. Support job fairs and other recruiting activities. Process payroll as a backup when the Senior HR Analyst is unavailable. Support additional HR projects, meetings, and company initiatives as needed.
