This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, consultative environment and enjoys advising multiple clients on employee relations, compliance, and day-to-day HR challenges. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned client organizations Provide practical, risk-aware HR guidance to business owners and managers Advise on employee relations issues including performance management, corrective action, and terminations Provide hands on support of performance management, corrective, actions and terminations Conduct or support workplace investigations Handbook and Policy creation and implementation Qualify, communicate, initiate and track various leave laws such as
FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA
accommodations Provide guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws Support multi-state compliance requirements Assist with audit responses and agency inquiries Support onboarding and offboarding processes Coordinate with our payroll, benefits, and HRIS teams Provide training and presentations Manage a high volume of cases while meeting quality and response standards Required Qualifications 4+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a PEO, ASO, or HR consulting environment Four year degree or relevant field experience Strong working knowledge of multi-state employment laws but primarily California. Experience handling employee relations and investigations Ability to manage multiple clients or cases simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Sound judgment and risk management skills Strong organizational and follow up skills Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems+Preferred Qualifications Prior PEO or ASO experience Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses Familiarity with complex state employment laws (e.g., California) SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar certification Professional easy going demeanor Why Join Us Work in a dynamic, professional HR services environment Develop deep expertise in employment law and HR consulting Collaborative and supportive team culture Competitive compensation and benefits Career growth opportunities Ability to be on site at the home office in San Marcos, CA is required.
