The Full-Time Specialist is responsible for administration for all benefit plans, manage third party vendor relationships, workers compensation management, leave of absence management, and other HR support as needed.Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pmKey Responsibilities:
Administer employee benefits, including new enrollments, qualifying life event changes, terminations, and ongoing maintenance. Manage all aspects of employee leave programs, including Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short-Term Disability (STD), Workers' Compensation, and other leave types, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and eligibility requirements. Review, track, and manage PFML eligibility criteria, required documentation, leave timelines, and employee communications throughout the leave process. Partner with managers and employees across the organization to coordinate leave requests, provide guidance, and ensure a smooth return-to-work process. Oversee annual Open Enrollment activities, including employee communications, system updates, and benefit elections. Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions, adjustments, and reconciliations. Track benefit invoices and maintain accounting schedules to ensure accurate billing and timely payments. Monitor and respond to the HR shared inbox, providing timely, professional assistance and escalating issues when appropriate. Support additional Human Resources projects and administrative tasks as needed to contribute to departmental success. Cross-train with HR team members to provide effective backup coverage and maintain continuity of operations. Other duties as assignedQualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience administering employee benefits for a mid-sized organization (approximately 250-500 employees). Minimum of 2 years of experience managing employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), Short-Term Disability (STD), Workers' Compensation, and other applicable leave types. Working knowledge of federal and state leave regulations, benefit eligibility requirements, and applicable compliance standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite; experience using HRIS and benefits administration systems is preferred. Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger processes, invoice reconciliation, and benefit billing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, managers, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling confidential employee information and data entry.Work Environment:
