Job Description

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, People Operations, the People Operations Employment Specialist leads the strategic recruitment and staffing initiatives for Stetson University through effective planning and operational management; Develops creative and effective marketing, sourcing, and selection processes to drive success in recruitment and retention outcomes; Analyzes and assists in the establishment of efficient workflow processes for streamlined hiring; Promotes and drives diversity and inclusion in all selection processes; Provides a high level of support to hiring managers and new employees; Partners with the People Operations team for an engaging orientation and welcome process; Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing campus partners. Associate Vice President of Human Resources Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Employment duties will include, but not be limited to: Effectively and efficiently managing recruiting, interviewing, and hiring systems and providing a positive candidate experience from the initial contact through onboarding. Promoting a diverse and inclusive hiring process while mitigating bias in the search process. Processing all staff employment transactions such as new hires, employment changes and terminations to ensure compliance with university policies. Establishing, organizing, entering data and maintaining complex filing systems, including confidential materials and employment files. Collaborating with the payroll department for timely and accurate payroll processing. Electronically reporting new hire 1-9 form information to E-Verify and the State of Florida New Hire Reporting Center to maintain compliance. Updating the human resources employment website and maintaining the University's applicant tracking and onboarding system. Collaborating with department team to write and issue HR Newsletter. Interfacing with the public and employees of Stetson to provide general assistance and support in addition to the other human resources functional areas as needed. Providing reports on employee data such as hires, separations and change of status. Assisting with improved workflow processes and creating efficiencies where possible. Providing support with annual audits.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment where deadlines, detail, and accuracy are essential; Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills required. Required Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor's degree and three (3) years of human resources staffing experience or a combination of degree, human resources experience and office experience. A combination of education and experience working in a Human Resources role may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Experience:
Proficient user of technology applications (Word, Excel, etc); Experience with social media platforms for hiring initiatives and employment branding. Desire to professionally learn and grow.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
The ideal candidate's qualifications for this role include: Experience working in an institution of higher education. Experience supporting applicants and employees through complex processes. Experience in recognizing and mitigating bias and/or inequity in employment processes. A professional working proficiency in Spanish. Experience using Banner/Ellucian or similar ERP.
Work Environment:
Work is preformed in an office setting during university business hours with occasional hours outside the normal University schedule.
