Steel Fabricators is part of the FabSouth group of companies, which operate nationwide. This is a hand-on position where you will work closely with all employees at the location. As the HR Generalist, you will be handling the following HR matters: Plans and carries out policies and programs relating to all phases of human resources, and payroll directly ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Maintains staffing levels consistent with entity objectives. Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Plans and coordinates new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. Assist management in assessing departmental needs and organizational planning and development, evaluating structure, job design and manpower forecasting throughout the company.
Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department and participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems. Revises position descriptions as necessary; monitors performance evaluation/review processes and revises as necessary. Oversee employee payroll processing, benefit administration, and employee relation's functions (event planning) Compiles and analyzes a variety of data (turnover, absenteeism, etc.) and develops programs/practices to address areas of concern. Engage with outside suppliers to provide employee services such as temporary Labor. Develops Employee Relations by counseling employees and other managers on various employee relation issues. Ensures compliance in recordkeeping and reporting related to all areas of responsibility ensuring all are consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations (i.e. I-9, workers compensation claims and return to work, safety, etc.) Develops and maintains the DOT Driver certification program for their respective site.
