A Human Resources Specialist works for a human resources department to implement the provisions of a labor contract, including employee wages and benefits and other practices that are collectively bargained; may also handle an internal grievance process established under a labor contract.

Responsibilities Provides support for FSUPC and TCS campuses in onboarding activities for all employees, including posting job ads, scheduling appointments, fingerprinting, and maintaining Teams folders for departments. Provides assistance with FMLA/parental leave inquiries and requests, workers' comp claims, staff tuition scholarship applications, and completes payroll certifications. Assists with separation procedures, time entry verifications, actives reports, and leave audits across campus. Assists with personnel action requests, funding changes, and updates to position descriptions across campus. Responsible for maintaining integrity and confidentiality for HR files & records databases, and records retention. Supports departments in ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (

Preferred Qualifications Experience in Human Resources Helpful During the first two months, the HR Representative will receive structured, hands-on training to build familiarity with university policies and procedures. The selected candidate will work closely with their supervisor and department employees to: Participate in guided training sessions on university processes. Shadow experienced staff to learn daily workflows and deadlines. Gain an understanding of departmental responsibilities and requirements. Take on progressively more independent assignments with ongoing support and feedback. Establish strong working relationships with team members and campus support staff. By the end of the first 60 days, the HR Representative is expected to be working independently with training as needed, being familiar with campus departments, departmental policies & procedures, and contributing independently to the department while continuing to develop advanced skills.
