Overview Heavy civil construction company specializing in Municipal and FDOT projects. We are hiring an HR Specialist to support our growing team. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Recruitment and Hiring Posting job openings and screening resumes Attend Job Fairs Conducting interviews and coordinating hiring processes Performing background checks and verifying candidate information Assisting managers in selecting the right candidates Employee Onboarding Preparing job offers and employment contracts Organizing orientation programs for new hires with Safety Dept. Ensuring all required paperwork and documentation are completed Employee Relations Addressing employee concerns and resolving workplace conflicts Promoting a positive work environment Advising employees on company policies and procedures Benefits and Compensation Managing employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, etc.) Explaining compensation packages to employees Assisting with payroll coordination Compliance and Record Keeping Ensuring the company follows labor laws and regulations Maintaining accurate employee records and HR databases Preparing reports for management or audits Performance Management Assisting with performance reviews Helping managers set goals and evaluate employee progress Recommending improvements or disciplinary actions when needed Policy Implementation Developing and updating HR policies Communicating policies to employees Ensuring consistent application across the organization Qualifications Previous HR experience Payroll experience preferred Construction industry experience a plus Bilingual preferred but not required Strong communication skills capable of engaging diverse audiences effectively across various channels including social media platforms for employer branding purposes. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while always maintaining confidentiality.
