Position Overview We are seeking a proactive, organized, and people-focused HR Specialist & Recruiter to support human resources operations and lead full-cycle recruitment efforts. This role is responsible for attracting, hiring, onboarding, and supporting employees while ensuring a positive candidate and employee experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable balancing recruiting priorities with day-to-day HR responsibilities, compliance, safety coordination, benefits administration, and employee development support. Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & Talent Acquisition
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offers, and onboarding coordination.
  • Partner with managers to understand staffing needs, role requirements, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, networking, career fairs, and other recruiting channels.
  • Review resumes, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, and maintain clear communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Track recruiting metrics, prepare hiring updates, and recommend improvements to recruiting processes.
  • Promote a positive employer brand and help create a welcoming experience for candidates and employees. Onboarding & Employee Support
  • Support new hire onboarding, orientation, paperwork completion, and employee setup processes.
  • Design and lead comprehensive onboarding programs that set new hires up for success, including safety training and field mentorship integration.
  • Assist with employee relations, HR policy communication, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and other HR support functions.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and employee records in the applicant tracking system and HR files. Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies and applicable federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA regulations, FLSA, and EEO requirements.
  • Partner with the safety director and operations team to investigate workplace incidents, manage workers' compensation claims, and promote a culture of safety.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including driver's license verifications and EPA certifications. Compensation, Benefits & Training
  • Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
  • Assess market data to maintain competitive compensation plans, bonus structures, and prevailing wage scales for the field labor force.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate ongoing technical and professional development programs to foster career advancement. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in recruiting, human resources, staffing, or talent acquisition preferred.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices, interviewing techniques, onboarding processes, and basic HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, job boards, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple openings, deadlines, and HR tasks at once.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships with candidates, employees, managers, and external partners. Preferred Skills
  • Experience with high-volume recruiting or recruiting for multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with employment laws, background checks, I-9 documentation, employee recordkeeping, DOT compliance, and safety-related HR processes.
  • Ability to use social media and professional networking platforms to attract talent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a service-oriented approach to HR support.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, if relevant to the workforce served.
Work Environment & Schedule This is a full-time position. Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility needed for interviews, recruiting events, or onboarding activities. Work may be on-site, hybrid, or remote depending on company needs. Compensation & Benefits Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and company pay structure. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
