HR Generalist (Part-Time) 20-25 hours per week - In Person About the Role We're looking for a part-time HR Generalist to handle hiring, HR documentation and compliance, and benefits administration for our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable wearing multiple hats and can work independently with 20-25 hours a week of flexibility. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Hiring Manage full-cycle recruiting: write and post job openings, screen resumes, and schedule interviews Coordinate with hiring managers on role requirements and candidate selection Conduct or coordinate reference and background checks Manage new-hire paperwork and onboarding HR Documentation & Compliance Maintain and update the employee handbook Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law in every state where we employ people (wage and hour, leave laws, required postings, paid sick leave, etc.) Maintain personnel files and required documentation (I-9s, W-4s, offer letters, policy acknowledgments) Draft, update, and roll out HR policies and procedures as regulations or business needs change Track state-specific registration, posting, and notice requirements as we hire in new states Benefits & Insurance Administration Administer new-hire and annual open enrollment for health, dental, vision, life, and disability plans Serve as the main point of contact with insurance brokers and carriers Process qualifying life event changes and manage COBRA administration General HR Support Support performance management alongside managers for employees that aren't meeting targets (improvement plans, warning documentation) Handle employee relations questions and help resolve workplace issues Assist with HR-related payroll inputs: new hires, terminations, status and pay changes Support workers' compensation claims and unemployment claim responses Qualifications 3-5 years of HR generalist experience Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law Experience administering group benefits and working with brokers/carriers PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus Comfortable working independently in a part-time, flexible schedule Strong discretion with confidential information Schedule 20-25 hours per week, with flexibility on days/hours by mutual agreement.
Pay:
$27.75 - $33.00 per hour
